Sending invoices by email and WhatsApp
How to send supplier invoices and expense receipts to Makor by email or WhatsApp, without opening the app — and what to do if something doesn’t come through.
What it is
Besides scanning in the app or uploading on the website, you can simply send supplier invoices and expense receipts — by email to makor@betterip.io or by WhatsApp to Makor’s number.
Every invoice you send lands in your business’s Scans, is read automatically just like a scanned invoice, and waits for you to review and approve it.
Each scan shows how it arrived: website, app, API, email or WhatsApp. You can also filter the scans list by it.
One-time setup: register your phones and addresses
Makor only accepts invoices sent from a phone or email address you have registered and verified. You do this once:
- Open the account menu and choose Invoice inbox. The same screen is also a tab in your business settings.
- Add the phone number or email address you will send invoices from.
- Choose which business its invoices go to. You can only choose a business where you are an owner or employee — a business you are the accountant for won’t appear in the list.
- Verify that the phone or address is really yours, as explained below.
Verifying an email address
- After you add it, Makor emails a 6-digit code to that address.
- Type the code on the invoice inbox screen and press Verify.
The code is valid for 30 minutes and you can try it up to 5 times. Email didn’t arrive, or the code expired? Press Send a new code — and check your spam folder too.
Verifying a phone
- After you add it, the screen shows a 6-digit code and an Open in WhatsApp button.
- Press the button. WhatsApp opens a message to Makor’s number with the code already filled in.
- Send the message from the phone you added, not from another phone.
- Within a few seconds the screen updates by itself and the phone is marked verified. No need to refresh.
Why this way? A message sent from the phone itself proves it’s really yours. If you left the screen before sending, press Show code to get a new one.
- Each phone and each email address can be registered to only one Makor user.
- You can change the business its invoices go to, or remove a phone or address, at any time.
Sending an invoice
By email
- Attach the invoice as a PDF, JPG or PNG file. Several attachments in one email are fine.
- Each file can be up to 50MB. Other file types (such as Word or Excel) are ignored.
- Send it to makor@betterip.io from an address you have verified.
By WhatsApp
- Send a photo of the invoice or its PDF from a verified phone, to the number shown on the invoice inbox screen.
- Send it in a direct chat with Makor, not in a group.
Sent the same file twice? It is filed only once.
The invoice didn’t show up in Scans?
- Sent from a phone or address you haven’t verified? The invoice isn’t filed to a business but held aside. Contact support and we can assign it.
- The file type isn’t supported. By email only PDF, JPG and PNG are accepted; by WhatsApp, a photo or a PDF. Stickers and other formats aren’t supported.
- Check you chose the right business next to the phone or address on the invoice inbox screen. The invoice may have gone to another business’s scans.
Still can’t find it? Write to us.
Scanning in the app
If a scan fails in the app, each failed item shows the reason and a button to try again. The reason is reported to us automatically, so support can see it without you having to explain.
Privacy
- We keep only the files you send.
- Verification codes expire after a short time.
- You can remove a phone or address at any time; from then on, invoices sent from it are not accepted.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to verify every time?
No. You verify once, and from then on every invoice sent from that phone or address is accepted.
I have several businesses. How do I choose which one an invoice goes to?
Each phone and address is linked to one business. You can register several phones and addresses, each for a different business, and change the business at any time.
Can my accountant send invoices to my business this way?
No. You can only choose a business where you are an owner or employee. An employee can register their own phone or email and send invoices themselves.
Is the invoice recorded in the books right away?
No. It lands in Scans, is read automatically and waits for you to review and approve it — just like an invoice you scanned.
